GIVING BACK

As part of the Battersea Park Comedy Festival 2026, a series of free public speaking workshops brought creativity and confidence building directly into local classrooms. Inspired by the creative storytelling of the festival's performers, the initiative introduced participants to the core elements of performance, focusing on oracy, confidence building, and teamwork, helping students discover the power of being heard.

Delivered in partnership with Polka Theatre, the two-hour sessions at Falconbrook, St Mary's, and Griffin Primary Schools immersed students in imaginative drama and storytelling activities. Through games, character work, and guided creative exercises, they explored voice, physicality, and clear communication.

By the conclusion of each workshop, every student had contributed to a shared creative outcome, whether performing a speech, devising a skit, or presenting a freeze frame image. Through this, every student was given a tangible sense of achievement, reinforcing their confidence and demonstrating the power of their own voice.
